Email to SMS allows you to send SMS messages from your email account or email enabled program. The steps below will guide you through setting up and sending messages through this feature. You can also refer to our API documentation for Email to SMS.

Setup

Before you can send your first Email to SMS or Email to MMS, it is necessary to configure some settings on your account. The following steps will guide you through the setup process.

1. Log in to your account and view your account settings by clicking on Tools

This will open your account Settings page. Locate the Email to SMS/MMS settings section on this page (shown below):

2. Turn on the Email to SMS feature: under the heading Email to SMS/MMS, tick the box that reads Enable Email to SMS

3. Approve one or more email addresses that are permitted to send Email to SMS through your account by entering each email on a separate line under the Allowed sender addresses / domains section.

4. You can approve an entire domain of email addresses (e.g. @yourcompany.com), which allows anyone with an email address ending in that domain to send an Email to SMS.

5. Select where email replies should be returned to you, whether this is to your account email address or to the email address that sent the original message. The second option is useful if you have approved a domain of addresses to send Email to SMS, and senders wish to receive a replies directly back to their personal email addresses.

6. If you would like to enable replies to your Email to SMS messages using the SMSGlobal shared pool of numbers, check the box next to Allow replies to email to SMS messages.

7. Click Update Settings at the bottom of this page and everything is ready to go.
